9.02. Simon Bowen, on Participatory Design, Critical Artefacts and Media Innovation
The 9th of February at eight, A tot Z lectures in Z33 presents a lecture by Simon Bowen, who wrote a very interesting Phd on the use of Critical Artefacts in Participatory Design processes. Simon Bowen is a researcher at Sheffield Hallam University’s Art & Design Research Centre in the UK. A central theme in his work is ‘participatory design and innovation’, via which he investigates how design methods utilising ‘critical artefacts’ (provocative conceptual designs) can lead to innovation. Simon Bowen is also active in the digital world as web designer and consultant, while his creative side finds expression in photography.
The lecture will be very interesting for (media) designers/makers/theoreticians who look for ways/methods/tools in which they can push their work to unexpected and innovative outcomes. Bowen is very interested in discussing your work, methods and approaches after his talk.
